Jamiyal Shah Datar’s Dargah – Datar Hill

On the top of Datar Hill, there is the Dargah of Jamiyal Shah Datar, which is situated at an altitude of 2,779 feet. That is why it is a popular religious place in the Saurashtra region as it has the shrine of Jamiyal Shah Datar. To reach the Dargah of Jamiyal Shah Datar one has to climb 3,000 stairs which start from the Wellington Dam. The Wellington Dam was built by the British on the Kalwa River. The Datar mountain is also known as Upala Datar.

Nagariya Patthar (stone) of Datar mountain is the attraction of people who come here. The specialty of these stones is that as soon as they hit these stones, it sounds like ringing Drums.

Upla (Upper) Datar Dargah

This place becomes even more attractive during the rainy season and here you can enjoy the waterfalls flowing down the hills. Tourists can also visit the Chitharia Pir, Hathi Patthar (Elephant Stone), Koyla Wazir, and Digambar Jain Lord Neminath Temple while visiting the summit. Datar Hills is a very beautiful place and it is a great place to spend some time. Many tourists visit this place every day and enjoy this place. This holy site is popular for its 5-day Urs festival, which is celebrated with great pomp here every year. At least 3 lakh people make a daily pilgrimage during these five days, it symbolizes the true Indian secular culture and traditions, both Muslim and Hindu. During the first night of Urs, Muslims offer chadar and Hindus worship. All ornaments which are kept inside the cave throughout the year are brought out for public display on this night.

Nichla (Lower) Datar Dargah

The Dargah of Jamiyal Shah Datar is also situated at the bottom of the hill which is also known as Nichla (Lower) Datar. It is a mausoleum built with large carved domes and small minarets. People suffering from many diseases visit this dargah in the hope of treatment. There is also a Datar Masjid here, where Muslim Muslims offer prayers for 5 times. There is a feeling of divinity and spiritual vibrations in the Nichla Datar. The place is very close to the city. Both Hindus and Muslims worship and pray at this place.

Best Titme to visit Datar Hills

October, November, December, and January are the best times to visit Datar mountain.
The time of Datar mountain is from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm in the evening. The morning is the best time to climb the Datar mountain.

Datar Hills Entrance Fee

There is no charge to visit Datar mountain. It is absolutely Free of Cost.

How to Reach Datar Hills

To reach Datar mountain you can get an auto from the bus station or railway station.
